1st New Year Posting..

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!

This year was quite a special year because I didn't spend my last few hours of the year 2008 in Singapore. I was in Batam instead. My aunt brought me and my 2 sisters to there to celebrate the arrival of the new year.

I left my house on 31 December at around 6.40am. We went for a quick breakfast before going to HarbourFront to catch our train which was at 8.30am. There were alot of people there, especially ah Peks. Haha.. Rumours were true. Haha..

The boat ride took slightly more than an hour. It was smooth. Watch Mr Bean to kill time. When we reached, we went to have a visit to a temple and pray. Lunch was next. It was a 8-course meal. The food was not bad. But accompanying the food was the karaoke competition audition. It was terrible. It was like a hua jin nian hua competition. Only 2 people sang songs that I recognised. LOL!

Feeling bored, my aunt suggested we all went for a full body massage. LOL! It was my 1st time doing massage. It was damn ITCHY!! Throughout the massage, I was tahaning my itchyness. I also asked her not to massage my thighs. SO SENSITIVE LAH! My sisters were laughing all the way for the 1.5 hour of massage. What an experience.. Maybe won't do massage anymore in my life. Haha..

After that, we went to shop for the clothes. It was said that buy 1 get 20% and buy 2 get 30%. So my aunt and her sisters went to buy a lot of clothes. I wanted to get one shirt but the shop didn't have my size. Zzz.. So I just got another random shirt.

We went to check-in the hotel after shopping. The hotel room was not bad for Batam. The people there were polite. There were a lot of channels! Got malaysia, Singapore de and also ESPN. LOL!

We went back to the same place for dinner. Also, the finals of the Karaoke competition continued. Zzz.. We waited for 2hours for the food to be served. It was another 8-course meal again. We just ate half-way then ran le. Almost all of them went to KTV to sing but my sisters and I went back to the hotel room to watch the countdown show on Ch 8. A lot of people there were starting fireworks on the streets. SO GOOD SIA!! I wanted to try..

010109-We ate breakfast at the hotel. Nothing special. We then went to another temple to pray for wealth I think. We went to another shop to buy the dried food. I bought the dried Sotong which my mum liked a lot and another of other snacks for my grandparents.

Lunch was another 8-course meal but these were mainly consist of seafood. There were hermit crabs, crabs, prawns and many more. Some obviously I didn't know how to eat so I didn't touch and just looked at how other people ate it.

Another 3hours of shopping spree. I bought myself 2 more shirts and 1 pair of shoes. Will upload the photos once my clothes dried. I was quite blurred when buying the clothes because all the shop attendants used their own native language to talk to us. Then, there was one time when the owner talked to me in malay all the way until I paid the money to him and he said thank you in Chinese to me. Zzzz..

It was then Home Sweet Home!!

I took a Maxi Cab back. I didn't know the price so I didn't want to board the cab. But sometimes, I got no choice and I just went. The uncle was educating me on his theory of "worth Taxi Trip" throughout the whole trip. Zzz.. I just kept giving him an-one-word reply. He constantly replied the same things to me. Super sianz lah..

This is how I spend my 1st new year out of the small little red dot. Hope next time can go to further place!
